City Hall and the Old Supreme Court building at St Andrew’s Road.
The Japanese general Seishiro Itagaki surrendered to Lord Mountbatten on the steps on 12 September 1945 at City Hall (Originally known as Municipal Building). Municipal Building was renamed to City Hall in 1951. It was here that Mr Lee Kuan Yew declared Singapore’s independence on 9 August 1965.

Visited Marina Bay again on 11 Jul 2009 for the National Day Parade combine rehearsal. Fortunately, I was able to snap photos on the Presidential Gun Salute, Chinook, Apache, The Red Lions and on waters performances. Unfortunately, it rained toward the end I was soaked and wasn’t able to take good fireworks pictures.
